Worship Minister

The Worship Minister at Fairfield Church of Christ will be a committed partner in planning, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive and vibrant worship ministry that brings glory to God and encouragement to the body of Christ. The Worship Minister serves as a member of a highly motivated and collaborative ministry staff that seeks to establish continuity in church ministries, bring genuine community to the congregation, and accomplish the overall mission of the church: to Reach our community while Teaching the Body of Christ to live and Serve wherever we find ourselves.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as part of a team and display not only strong vocal skills and leadership ability but also the character traits of a Biblical leader as found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. The leadership of Fairfield Church of Christ believes wholeheartedly that the successful candidate will be a leader whose calling and character will be one others seek to emulate.  This position’s success is dependent on a commitment to teaching, reverence, and excellence in worship.

The Worship Minister will work in collaboration with many volunteers at varying skill levels on a weekly basis to facilitate multiple worship services, creative arts, and media production. The Worship Minister will be part of recruiting and developing musicians through coaching and mentoring and will need to have had solid experience working with staff and volunteers in the areas of production, technical, and media. The successful candidate will have a heart for people, pastoring, and the ability to use other ministerial skills and gifts to enhance and expand the mission and vision of Fairfield Church of Christ.

While education is not a predetermining factor in the selection of a new Worship Minister, the successful candidate will have demonstrated 3-4 years of professional development and oversight in full-time worship ministry. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Christian college, seminary, or university may be preferred.

• Have a deep and abiding walk with Christ, a vibrant prayer life, a passion for worship, a teachable spirit, and a team-player attitude.
• Be able to relate to, and lead worship for, multi-generational audiences, incorporating music from different styles in worship
• Be able to balance personal life and ministry life
• Have experience with effective budget management and stewardship
• Have aptitude, knowledge, and experience in how to utilize creative technology and arts in ministry.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively.
