Creative Arts Worship & Productions Pastor (Full Time)
We are looking for a follower of Jesus with a missional mindset who loves using music & creativity to engage people and help them encounter the grace, truth, and wonder of God. We are a church all about humbly pointing everyone to absolute Hope, by valuing creativity, with our hearts focused on Jesus, and our eyes fixed on the lost.
This is a full-time, exempt staff position for a church in the Lake Norman Region. You report directly to the Lead Pastor. You support primarily our church gatherings (Connection Services, Monthly Gatherings, Digital Engagement, Leadership Trainings, Special Events), and will be asked to do other events throughout the year outside of the church.
Key Objectives:
- Lead our Connection Service Teams, including musicians, vocalist & production volunteers, with excellence.
- Lead worship, preferably as a strong vocalist and instrumentalist, alongside other Worship Leaders.
- Develop volunteers in their gifting to lead our church in worship.
- Lead the creation and execution of Moments to enhance the message for the service, including songs, videos, and experiences to engage our church.
- Engage and lead a large volunteer team of musicians and vocalists in the above goals with excellence.
Position Requirements:
- A calling to pastoral ministry, and an agreement with the Statement of Beliefs of Journey Church.
- A desire to lead as a part of a collaborative staff team.
- 2-3 Years Experience in a similar position, in a church of at least 200 avg. attendance.
- Musical proficiency, including the ability to lead from at least one instrument, the ability to read/arrange music charts, and the ability to lead other musicians.
- Production proficiency, including the ability to learn/implement new audio/lighting/video technology, the ability to understand current technology to patch or fix issues as they arise, and the ability to coordinate with appropriate production vendors as needed.
- Self-motivated leader, with the ability to be organized & responsible, as well as a love for planning ahead (which is expected).
- Ability to recruit & lead teams of volunteers, as well as identify and develop other leaders in the church.
- Passion to understand, embrace, & engage the current culture
- Confident & engaging stage presence and communication skills.
Specific Responsibilities:
Create an engaging environment for all services/gatherings by overseeing and managing the following areas and the following staff members:
- Lead and oversee bands and vocalists – Recruiting, Scheduling, Rehearsing, Chord Charts, Track Management/Creation, Song Selection, etc.
- Lead the service programming & creative planning – Series Planning, Service Moments, Creative Elements, etc.
- Manage all equipment and resources required for these areas – See below for gear details.
- Recruit and Train additional worship leaders, musicians and production leaders that can assist & lead individual areas of ministry.
- Oversee Website & Social Media management - The Church Co site & various social media platforms.
- Help create creative content for digital engagement ministry – Video Recording/Editing, Podcast Recording/Editing, Social Media Engagement, etc.
