Admissions Verification Specialist Role Summary:

The Admissions Verification Specialist is hybrid role focused on the efficient processing of admission requirements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with policies and regulations, and a positive experience for prospective students. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

The Verification Specialist role will split their time, at the direction of the Director of Enrollment, to ensure the organization, timely, and efficient acquisition and processing of various admissions requirements for new applicants. Additionally, the Verification Specialist will also spend part of their day proactively reaching out to applicants still working on admissions requirements.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Acquire admissions transcripts through ordering on behalf of applicants through various services.
  • Timely and efficient processing admissions checklist items on to student’s application
  • Act as the main point of contact to partner with IT to ensure the seamless transfer of information between CRM and the SIS.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in admissions processing workflows and procedures, recommending and implementing enhancements.
  • Stay informed about changes in admissions requirements, policies, and regulations, participating in training and professional development activities as needed.
  • Daily collection of mail, scanning, and uploading documents to appropriate files.
  • Meeting department standards and key performance indicators around efficiency and quality of work.
  • Proactively communicating (outbound calls) with applicants all necessary information relating to programmatic and admission requirements, dates and deadlines, and any other information relevant to the applicant’s academic goals at Montreat College.
  • Building rapport with prospective students to provide them with a personal connection to the college and to enhance the potential for long-term enrollment retention.
  • Provide best in class service to prospective students.
  • Utilize proactive outreach strategies to aid in the recruitment of prospective students.
  • Advancing prospective students through the stages comprising the admissions process.
  • Managing the transfer credit evaluation process, posting transferred credit in SIS, and aiding admissions and advising team with any transfer questions.
  • Completing the application files of assigned prospective students.
  • Meeting and/or exceeding departmental key performance indicators.

Desired Experience, Education, and Competencies

  • Previous experience in admissions, enrollment management, or student services in a higher education setting. Experience in admissions processing is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Computer literacy. Previous experience/proficiency in common personal productivity and enterprise applications (i.e. Microsoft Products, Jenzabar, Salesforce).
  • Writing skills. Specialist must be able to generate professional correspondence via e-mail and letters.

 

Expected Schedule:

As a salaried employee, there is an expectation for a minimum of a forty-hour work week, Monday through Friday.
